Start of the Journey

Well, it is almost years...when i thought like starting the blog for first time....Somehow, it was getting delayed....Mainly it was because of laziness taking over my senses....Then it was Dilip and his blog....He had been always a man of wisdom having hobbies like memorizing the whole Oxford Dictionary and going through at least four newspapers a day. When I say about his newspaper habit then it is not like just going through headlines, but it is about going through each sentences of the newspaper. Now for obvious reasons, if you read that much, you will be a man of wisdom.

To start with, I have decided to write on my colleagues and some light references to the events around us. How can I forget the great September of 2005, when the great 28 from all over India assembled at Hyderabad. It was like mingling of several rivers at a point, each having its own different colour and different speed of flow.

We had all the enthusiasm to shape us in a proper soldier. As it happens in all the groups of new comers. There was introudction time, people meeting each other. The alliance was being formed mainly on the basis of region and states. Although we Indians are always proud to speak about our unity in diversity, but our initial affiliation and attachment starts on regionalism. And so there were initial groups of Biharis (I was also part of that), Delhi waley (Few of us from Bihar, of course not me, were ready to be part of that), UP waley, Marathi, North-easterns and so so.

There were three from North-east(Manipur), Lian, Haokip and Ranmung....all of them had similarity in look and good thing was that almost it took me more than two months to get to know, who is who.. I felt that it was only me who had this problem, but later i came to know that all the boys from north had the problem in recognising the north-east boys....Later Haokip said, that he had also problem in remembeering faces of north boys.....Ha ha ha anyway it was favorable to us in no..Many a time, these three guys asked us our north Indian Name, place of birth and what not...and each time they forgot, quite a relief for few of us on several occasions.

The first evening was good one, we were happy to get our rooms...We tried our best to get rooms as close as possbile to the best buddies based on regions...I got room in front of Dilip, beside me was Mainsh and one side it was store room..... In the line of Dilip were Raghubir, Azad jee and Vinod....Opposite to Vinod was the room of SP, bhakt of Hanuman......There were several devotees of Hanuman but he is the person, who maintained up to last his hanuman bhakti....

The main turmoil came next day, when all of us were lined up for Zero hair-cut....I didnt understand that time the value and meaning of this zero-cut, later i came to know it is done first to bring the soul of soldier in an individual and second to recognise among the different batches..well, at least this ceremony of zero-cutting brought 27 of us on similar level, almost like trying to level the gap between mainland and north-east...our face was now quite similar and it was hard to differentiate among the bald heads.....

Recognition in group of having same hair-cuts are hard at times and at those times we generally back up ourselves on physical features of human....A person of bigger body was named as Commando..Although in services, to be called Commando is a prestigious title, but our batch commando was declared Commando without any competition...I wished like competing with him for the title but then kept this dream of mine with myself as Who will take the panga with a giant like him.

The series will follow up.........

This piece of write-up was pending for approval for quite some time in my blog, i feel this is the right time to upload it. I know many eye-brows will be raised reading to this piece of write-up.
But i will request only one thing to my reader....See it is very hard thing for a Bihari to write in English and when a person like me is trying to do so, I only expect appreciation....Take care....bye...
